    Hamilton's dad on Greg

Let me preface this with stating that I have Summit's permission to post this. For those of you that don't know, Summit is Larry Hamilton, Justin's dad. The following are Larry's thoughts he expressed during the season. It pretty well sums up why Justin left, and what is wrong with Greg's leadership. In the passage, Larry also foretells the mass player exodus as well. If Ham's dad knew this was coming, why didn't Greg? Why didn't Jamie? Things are seriously wrong in our program right now, and they start and end with Greg.

    From Summit (Larry Hamilton)
I have been quiet for a long time and this will probably be the last post for
me. I think Mac is a nice guy away from basketball. He may also be a good X and
O guy. What he is not, is a good leader and player motivator. He doesn't know
how to lift a player up or understand how to execute an effective"player
management" system. He has double standards for players and is very negative. He
is not consistent with his coaching approach, For example one day he wants to be
your friend and the next he is a screaming lunatic. This approach has created
team problems and is why most people leave. Don’t be surprised if you have
another exodus of players after this season. At least he will be able to“recruit
players that can play in the Big 12” next year. Go Cyclones!
I am sorry for teasing some of you with this a few weeks ago, but Larry wanted to wait until Justin had landed on his feet first at another school.

    Re: Hamilton's dad on Greg

Why would Larry give you permission to post this? Larry if you read this...take the high road. No reason to say things on the way out. If it is as bad as you say, then be grateful your son has left. But you just don't burn bridges.

Especially since you are the dad and your son is 20 years old. At what point do you let him live his own life and not post things on a message board after he leaves?

Thank you for the update. Pretty much what I expected from the little I had heard around.

The proof just keeps coming in. How anyone can defend the Men's Basketball program is beyond me.

Thanks. Interesting perspective to say the least.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

He posted it mid-season. Many people have been asking to hear what's going on and why Ham would leave. This gives insight into that.

    Kaboom!

We have a serious problem with our coach that needs to be addressed. This is not an isolated incident and should not be treated as such.

    Re: Hamilton's dad on Greg

I was wondering how long it would take for this to see the light of day. There has been a lot of speculation around here about the "closer to home" thing. This pretty much answers those questions.

How is he taking anything but the high road? He isn't bashing anyone, just letting the truth be known.

For the record he posted that a long time ago, and he said he thought Ham would stay right after that.
