    The Pacific

Anyone watching? I don't have HBO, but I did DVR the first episode when it was on one of the preview channels, and I'm planning on buying the set as soon as it hits DVD.

If you've seen it, does it compare at all to Band of Brothers? That was just unbelievable in the way it developed all of the characters. When someone would go down, it would actually get to you.

I've only watched the first 3, have the next 2 waiting, I like it so far, but I'm hoping it still gets better. Although I think a series like this really benefits from being able to watch them all in close succession rather than once a week.

While it is not as good as Band of Brothers it is good, definitely worth watching though

Tom Hanks added a lot of pzazz compared to the real war. Young kids were scared in the Pacific from what I have heard from seniors.

    Re: The Pacific

I've been watching and it hasn't been as entertaining for me as Band of Brothers was. Still it's a pretty good series and shows how ugly the war really was in the South Pacific.

I have a client who was a Lieutenent in the South Pacific. He's told me some war stories that just make your jaw drop.
