    Linda who?

So I remember her, but I just can't imagine what the hell the AD of Colorado was thinking on this one.

and Ceal Berry will be back in WBB offices to assist her. Frankly, Ceal was somebody, but after hearing her announce our games, I think she is out of the loop.

McConnell Miller had some great recruits coming in as well.

    Re: Linda who?

Weird hire. Doesn't sound like the AD wanted to spend a lot of time gauging interest.
Lappe played for Winfield-Mount Union, and is one of the greatest Iowa high school players ever. Maybe she will target Iowa as a recruiting territory.

    Re: Linda who?

I've been following this in the DailyCamera (Boulder Newspaper) and from the comments, Bohn didn't want to spend any money, so they took Lappe. Many insiders said they didn't interview anyone else on campus. She has a marginal record at Metro State (DII), and coached at CSU with Jen Warden who was run out at Boise State and Colorado State for mistreatment of players. She did spend time at Drake under Amy Stephens.

IMHO, this sets this program back at least another three years. She is unproven at the DI level, never recruited to the DI level, and CU has struggled to make in-roads anywhere as far as recruiting.

On the flip side, CU may bolt for the Pac-10, so we may end up seeing very little of her.

    Re: Linda who?

If you know that the program will lose money, why spend tons of money to hire a new coach ? Plus I think CU will need a lot of money to lure a new FB coach after this season

I don't know about attendance, but CU women's basketball under Ceal Barry was a strong program at one time. Several sweet sixteen or better appearances.

Wasn't it Berry who recruited Lappe?

Linda has hired her first assistant who is familiar with everyone, Jennie (Lillis) Baranczyk.
