Re: Santonio Holmes for a Fifth round pick??

2 yr removed Superbowl MVP as well. Had to be the top receiver last year, or close to it.

My jaw hit the floor when I heard that this morning. I don't follow the team much in the offseason, but I have to think something is askew for them to give him up for seemingly so little.

Pittsburgh paper says the Steelers were ready to release him if they couldn't find a trade:

Steelers were ready to cut Holmes before trade

Yeah, Pittsburgh is cleaning house right now. Not happy at all with the legal issues that have been taking place.

He and Braylon Edwards will make a nice pair of WR in NY.

Holmes is still suspended for the first 4 games of the season though. Too bad we wont get to see him before then. Cant kick that drug habit.

Don't forget Cotchery. He was a fringe Pro Bowl player 2 seasons ago. Sanchez has a real nice situation there. 3 good wideouts, LT as a pass catcher, shonn greene to pound the ball.

Braylon Edwards and his concrete hands? Holmes will get in more trouble. Crotchery is old, LT is washed up. None of those people scare me.

Agreed. The Jets have put themselves in a nice position.

Clearly Pittsburgh sending a message, in particular to Roethlisberger.

Well, at least a dirty Sanchez...
