    Deck Builders

Any recommendations for someone that builds decks in the Des Moines area?

Tony Nygren 669-3132. Does a great job and very reasonable. Forgot his company name. Worth getting a quote from him

Have you thought about stamped concrete instead. I decided to go that route two years ago. My neighbor had a deck built at the same time. My patio still looks brand new and his deck has really weathered. The patio needs to be sealed a couple times a year. I have had more compliments on it and 2 of my friends did the same thing after seeing mine.

    Re: Deck Builders

You can get a paver patio for about $10/sq ft. A Deck can cost $20 to $30 per sq ft.
Much better bang for your dollar and less upkeep. If you need some design ideas, send me a message.

Every house is different. Some need decks, some are ok with patios. Personally I almost always prefer decks. Just my opinion.

    Re: Deck Builders

Right now I currently have just a small 10x10 (I think) deck that is about 3 feet of the ground. I was thinking of just leaving that part of the deck there and then building another level below it, like one step down.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

I had Brett Priestley build mine. He did an awesome job. I would highly recommend him. He has done a lot of work in Ankeny and all over the metro.

If a deck is not maintained properly it will always end up looking like that. I cringe when I see a deck with paint on it. It is not hard to take care of a deck if you keep on top of it.

    Re: Deck Builders

Does anyone have a composite deck? I'd love to rip ours off and replace it with composite.

Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl.
