Very premature Big 12 football power rankings

Here's an extremely early look at the Big 12 next year. I mainly look at personnel and not so much schedules. Just starting to break everything down. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Good analysis but I would probably slide Baylor up to #8. Griffin III makes that big of a difference to the team.

Re: Very premature Big 12 football power rankings

    Interesting...
Is this based on your predicted standings at the end of the season, or the strength of the teams?

The bottom half of the conference is pretty much a toss-up in my opinion. I think that on any given saturday that any of the bottom six can beat another. It is really going to come down to who can pull out a few close wins.

If you are predicting the end of season standings, I think you have us a few spots too high. If it is based on strength, I think Kansas is high. Otherwise, looks about right.
I think Baylor may finish higher than 8th. Certainly higher than 11. Griffith doesn't even have to be back 100% of what he was, and he is still a game changer.

Strength of the teams. I didn't factor in schedules for this column.

Don't like Oklahoma but you have to give them credit for a pretty good non-conference schedule: Utah State, Florida State, Air Force, Cincinnati.

Iowa State's is quite respectable compared to other Big 12 Schools, probably in the top 3 for difficulty/respectability.

I still dont get how national guys are giving Nebraska so much pub when they dont even have a proven QB. No team should be top 5 in the nation without a really reliable QB.

Re: Very premature Big 12 football power rankings

Tech, IMO, is a total question mark.

Otherwise, the only thing I would change is flip KU and OSU. Even with all they lose, I think Gundy is too good to slip that far.

Like everyone else, flip ISU and OK St. Though I think ISU will be better than KU.

I think you switch the 4/5 and the 7/9 and it's spot on.
