Re: And the Lieberman Award winner is...

    The article says:
The other three finalists for the award were Samantha Prahalis of Ohio State, Oklahoma's Danielle Robinson and Courtney Vandersloot of Gonzaga.
There were eight finalists (including Lacey) and they then announce the top 4 and the winner. Lacey was on the list of 8, but she was not one of the top 4.

This will no doubt sound like sour grapes, but Riley was great as a point guard who distributed the ball--mainly to herself.

    I knew it !
According to Nancy Lieberman award website, the award is given to a point guard who resembles Nancy's style of play. I'm not sure whether Nancy used to dominate the ball, shoot so many times and not helping on the defense ?
This seems more like a Troy Hudson's award.

Robinson or Prahalis might be more deserving

chosen by sportswriters....coaches may have had a different perspective. Surprised though, Prahalis's meltdown and both OSUs early exits in the NCAA, along with Robinson's/Vandersloot's performances in the tourney, would have made for a different winner and Prahalis not in top 4.

all voters care about now days is the way a player dominates they don't care about anything else IMHO

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Absolutely ridiculous! AR is one of the most over hyped players I have ever seen. I guarentee if you tell every other player on the the finalist list to shoot the ball 35 times a game, that they too could make 8 or 9 of them get fouled a go to the line, or pass the ball when a 3rd defender comes to a WIDE open player - they could. AL would probably score 40-50 a game. Would ISU win the game that way? Maybe, maybe not. Doesn't seem to matter to OSU though.

I would expect WNBA owners would pass on drafting her, unless they are confident that a wild pony can be broken and taught to play with the rest of the team.

Re: And the Lieberman Award winner is...

    Points/Gm: Riley 26.7; Lacey 15.8

    FG%: Riley 35%; Lacey 44%
    3P%: Riley 30%; Lacey 37%
    FT%: Riley 80%; Lacey 88%

    Reb/Gm: Riley 3.3; Lacey 4.9

    Ast/Gm: Riley 6.5; Lacey 6.2
    Ast/TO: Riley 1.50; Lacey 2.97

NCAA: Riley 2nd Rd; Lacey Sweet 16

Don't know Riley's assist breakdown, but I believe that right at half of Lacey's assists were on 3-pointers.
