    Survivor 4/1 **** SPOILERS ****

Bye, bye Rob! That'll teach him to butt heads with Russell! What a big turnaround from the way things were going last week when Rob thought he had complete control.

I liked Rob, but man, I'm a HUGE Russell fan. I just had this feeling that he'd go a long ways when Jeff (at last season's finale) looked at Russell and said "you just love this game, don't you Russ." Considering this season was filmed prior to that, something told me he did quite well. That dude is one of the best survivors ever. And I hated him at first. If Russ goes, my interest in this season goes down a bunch.

Love or hate Russel, you have to love his game. Anyone that guns for him, he takes them out. He doesn't even care about numbers because I'm sure at the merge, he'll just find new ways to exploit.

It sucks that competitors like Rob and Tom are out and worthless people like Courtney and Sandra are in. Such as the game goes.

Russell is the best player this game has ever seen. His perception about what is going on, and how to manipulate people (if that is the right way to say it) for his benefit is out-of-this-world-good.

Boston "Welcome to the Big Leagues" Rob, good bye!

Russell was quite fortunate that Tyson is an idiot, or he was gone last week. What Tyson did made absolutely zero sense. He had no chance of going home if he had voted the way he was supposed to. I liked Russell til the last couple episodes last season. He's a total D-Bag, and I hate seeing total D-Bags win at anything...

    Re: Survivor 4/1 **** SPOILERS ****

The players from the earlier seasons are finding out that the ones who have played recently are more "in tune" with how the game is now compared to say 10 years ago. Rob had no idea how powerful the hidden immunity idol can be. Also, I think Rob's strategy of drawing a line in the sand and making it known he wants Russell gone was ultimately his downfall. Russell has the advantage that none of these people saw his season before this was filmed so they have no idea just how good he is at this game. Had they seen last season before this I bet he'd be gone by now.

I love watching Russell, I think he's probably the best player to ever play Survivor and hopefully he wins this season because he should have won last season.

I still can't stand coach and last night was a perfect example how he should be on the heroes tribe and not villians. You can't play this game with "honor" because you'll never win without backstabbing someone. Every winner had to break a promise at some point to advance. Even Jeri was ripping his strategy and if you can't trust people on your tribe and commit to an alliance regardless if you don't agree with how they want to vote every time then you're just a loaner who is eventually going to be a victim of the numbers. You'll be used to get some votes once in awhile then when you are no longer useful you'll be chewed up and spit out.

    Few points:

I agree Russel is the social game best player I've ever seen play survivor. In my mind, he took the crown away from Rob (season 6). Tom Westman is still the most dominant I've seen when he didn't even have to manipulate to win. He just kept dominating. Ethan also was the rare exception in that he won straight up. Most others have had to lie/manipulate to win. He may be a D-bag, but boy you sure don't mess with him. The best way to beat him is to stick with him until you can win a personal immunity challenge later on.

Coach will never win because he's not good enough athleticially to win challenges, and he certainly is not a good "game" thinker.

I can see the 5 of the Heroes plowing through this game for awhile.

You love watching a little Napoleonic, narcissistic ego maniac lie and cheat his way through the game? That might be why nobody gives a crap about the show anymore. Weak players banding together instead of going out and winning challenges. Russell is the kind of POS that in real life would back down and hide if someone bigger than him (just about everyone) called him out.

I agree that if Rob, James, would have had the benefit of watching him in his first season, they would have shoved his head in the sand and never let off....

Couldn't disagree more. First factually, then opinion-wise. If nobody watches anymore, why are survivor ratings the highest in 3 years? People like RUSSEL are what drives the ratings. Love him or hate him, he's the best by far I've seen. He was a target early on last season and pulled the right strings to put him in a spot where it wasn't up to him anymore. If no one lied and cheat, THEN ratings would drop.

Russell lies and cheats? Or does he play the game? Outwit, Outsmart, Outplay. Isn't that the saying?

And it who put the seed in Tyson's head to switch his vote? It wasn't just because Tyson is 'dumb' - Russell put that in his head. Russell knows what to tell anyone to get them to do what he wants. You know he pointed to the two girls in front of Rob (one of them gotta go) on purpose, right? That was his plan to get rid of Rob.

Russell also didn't lie and cheat to find all the immunity idols he's found. He's just found 'em. Lying and cheating? Nope.

Agree with Cypride. Russel is doing exactly what the game advertises. He's just doing it better than others right now.

I'd love to see a final of Russel, JT, and Colby

You wouldn't last long on the show if you though you couldn't cheat to stay in the game. Plus if you think Russell is "the kind of POS that in real life would back down and hide if someone bigger than him (just about everyone) called him out." then maybe you need to read up on him a little and you'd find out he's already a millionare oil tycoon so I highly doubt a successful business man has 'backed down" even in his personal life.

I think he plays a very agressive game and that is why some hate him but look where it got him last season and rumor is he makes the final 3 again this season. He's brilliant playing this game because everyone knows he's playing the game harder than anyone and lies all the time but how come he never gets voted out? He outwits them all, VERY smart player IMO which is why I love watching him play the game because no one has ever played it so boldly and confident like he has.

He could make the final 3 every time, and never win. His style of play will never get him the votes needed to win. He would be better off getting 9th, and enjoying a few extra weeks drinking and eating for free in a tropical resort. But I guess he is really smart, so getting second or third must be what he is trying to do.

And you are absolutely correct, I would not last long on the show. Instead of worrying about who we were going to vote off before every challenge, I would be working my *** of to win every challenge. The way I would expect the game to go would make for really boring TV....

Loved his conversation on the beach with Rob when Rob asked him who should go and he pointed right at the two ladies with them and said "one of these two"...LMAO.
