Good read from Andy Katz's blog on athletic directors...

Andy Katz's Daily Word: When will athletic directors be held to similar standards as coaches? - ESPN

Pretty good stuff, I think. I wonder when JP and his ego will be held ultimately accountable for what's happening with our basketball team.

I wonder when the idiotic posters on this board and their egos will realize that an Athletic Director is evaluated based on more than one sport.

That was my first thought as well. While basketball is a money maker and is very important. Football is where the money is made and the donations that come with it. Pollard has done an exceptional job in the football category by achieving
    A. record in the number of season tickets a few years ago
    B. Increasing revenue from the sport through luxury boxes
    C. Hired a hot Coach (Chizik) but then also hired another Great Coach (Rhoads)
    D. Keeping excitement in the football program

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

He was ripping on ADs for firing coaches. You do realize he is close with a lot of coaches and always supports them. JP is standing by his coach, something a lot of ADs dont do.

JP has never been the problem.

It has been a couple of hires that have let him down.

Chizik for being a nob (worked for us in the end.)

and GMac for simply not getting it done.

JP hasnt had the best track record in hiring the right coach. Good ADs make the right hire not the most popular one.

I think JP has done an outstanding job at ISU with everything except men's basketball. ISU has a much higher budget, sports across the board are performing better and I feel that overall ISU fans feel much better about the athletic programs (except men's bball).

Keep up the good work JP and you still have time to do something about men's bball!

I agree but Chizik was not the right fit for ISU.

Not many ADs get to hire 2 BB and 2 FB coaches.

Re: Good read from Andy Katz's blog on athletic directors...

Bozeman was caught red handed giving money to a recruit and was rightfully penalized by the NCAA. For once the NCAA got it right. Even though it was 10 years ago he doesn't deserve praise from Katz for bringing a low life program like Morgan St to the Big Dance for a one and done.
