    Colt McCoy

I'm watching SportsCenter right now and see that Colt McCoy worked out for scouts today. He did an interview and mentioned the number of games he won (45), lost (9), and started (54) as a QB. Does anyone find it weird that he know these off the top of his head? Or is it acceptable when athletes know a lot of their own statistics?

It is a little weird, but then again, football is basically his job, and one that he obviously loves. Lots of people can rattle off numbers and details related to their work. If he was an accountant, and was recalling numbers from the past year's bookkeeping, it wouldn't be all that odd.

45-9, not exactly a difficult thing to keep track of.

I'd guess professional athletes track their own statistics fairly closely.

its completely normal. I remember times I ran in high school from meaningless meets. Athletes care a ton about their careers and therefore remember a lot of their stats.

Completely agree - it's not uncommon for athletes to remember their stats. I wrestled in HS and I still remember my overall record (not going there as I don't want to embarrass myself). I also remember the fastest that I pinned someone was in the sophomore tournament - 15 seconds.

    Re: Colt McCoy

I don't find it odd at all. Those are the stats that he will be using as leverage when it comes time to sign a contract. Being as they aren't very difficult stats to remember, it's pretty easy to see why he would have those off the top of his head.

OK, those are all very good arguments. I was just kinda caught off guard. Thanks

    Re: Colt McCoy

He probably isn't alone in knowing that stat. How many of us know Cael record here without hardly thinking.
