    TV and Internet in Ames

    Hey,

I am buying a house in ames very soon and it is my responsibility to set-up the Cable and internet for the house. Does anyone have any suggestions? What do you use? Do you like it? Is there a noticeable difference between 7 and 12 mbps?

    Thanks
    pyrocyz

We get Qwest. You can bundle DSL, Direct TV and your Verizon cellular. You do miss out on some of the Mediacom showings of ISU events, but DTV is better overall. Interent could definitely be faster, but it's OK.

Whatever you do, don't get the basic package of DirectTV. This is what is provided at my apartment and channel 5 (ABC) looks terrible. Also, the selction of channels is no where near what you get with basic Mediacom.

Channel 5 looks terrible no matter what package or what service you have...

I've found that it is even worse on DirectTV
