    Scouts thoughts on Brackins

Jason King of Yahoo! Sports wrote this article with some thoughts of a few NBA scouts on current NCAA players. Here's what they had to say about Brackins:

"F Craig Brackins, Iowa State, junior, 6-10, 230 – I feel for him. He’s a great kid and a solid guy, but he probably should’ve left last year while his name was hot. One thing everyone should realize is that he had no help at Iowa State this season. He decided to go back, and they had no players to go with him. His entire career he’s played without a guard, so every play he’s made has been on his own."

Does he post on CF? If not, he sounds an awful lot like some people on here. Must be something to it.

    Re: Scouts thoughts on Brackins

G-F Wesley Johnson, Syracuse, junior, 6-7, 205 – He’s on everyone’s top 10 list and I’m sure a number of teams have him in the top five. I think he has the ability to get his own shot, but I don’t think he’s shown too much of that yet. It’s not a huge concern or weakness, but it’s something that gets mentioned every now and then by people who want to nitpick. He shoots the basketball really well and he’s a good enough athlete to excel in our league. Plus, from everything I hear, he’s a really great kid and a great teammate that would be good for any team

I think brackins will struggle in the league unless he adds some bulk

Craig is going to be much better in the league than most think, bank on it.

If he can shoot, he will be fine.

He won't be asked to be the number one option, he'll just need to be able to hit mid range jumpers, something he is very good at.

You know, his shooting percentage doesn't suggest this AT ALL. He was awful from college three point range....that's the outer midrange limit in the NBA.

Two games stick out in my mind: Nebraska(home) and Kstate(away).

I'm just curious to see how he does...

Surprise. He had no guard play. GMac's evaluation of guards has been abysmal.

I guess I was just looking at the teams that have been successful in the tournament...nearly every game turned into a half court defensive game.

Plus the sour taste in my mouth from watching the Texas game(Big12 tourney)...We couldn't get a stop. Barnes was a genius going with this big line up. Forced us to put Gilstrap on James. Plus Hamilton foul trouble... I sat there the whole game knowing we couldn't get enough stops to win.

Our best offensive team is not our best defensive team...
