Re: We beat two Final Four teams

I think Baylor and OU are the best teams in our conference - it is fitting that they comprise half of the Final Four.

It speaks well of our conference and says a lot about our program as well. With Appel slowed by injury, OU even has a decent chance to make the finals. Things didn't go our way the last month of play, but, I think Bill has something to talk about to prospects and we have hope for the future.

Yeah, the Big XII has represented itself very well. Clearly the strongest conference in the nation top-to-bottom. I'm kinda surprised Nebraska lost, but they got really lucky a lot this season.

I hope OU or Baylor wins!

It will be interesting to see how UConn approaches Griner. You'd think they'd take a look at the ISU tape for sure.

Good stat for our program though. I said right at the beginning of the selection show that it would have been nice to be in the Kansas City bracket as well. Maybe we could have been in the final four if we could have finally gotten past Nebraska.

Kentucky looked like a different team tonight vs. Sunday. They looked like they used everything they had to beat Nebby, and were flat as a pancake tonight. OU beat them at their own game.

Big 12 has done well, I agree.

I wasn't surprised about Nebraska getting knocked out ... I thought they'd be the first 1 seed to fall (turns out it was Tennessee, so I was wrong) -- not because the Huskers didn't have a great season, but I just had a hunch — programs that reach that height for the first time tend to hit a wall sooner (happens in MBB tournament a lot, and is starting to show itself in WBB).

in all honesty put Iowa state in a different bracket and we might be in the same position

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Re: We beat two Final Four teams

If you had a healthy Lacey all season, it would have been different. However, the way it was, we might have made the Elite Eight in a different bracket, but it would have take some luck to make the Final Four. Lacey still wasn't at her best in the tournament.

Kentucky started out the game against OU like they played against NU, but it cuaght up to them after the initial rush.

Baylor ahd OU seem to have a leg up on recruiting on the rest of the Big 12. Mulkey is making the most out of being a legend. Just the fact that so many families of pro athletes send their kids to Coale shows she has taken advantage of OU's overall athletic prowress and made a name for herself. Texas should be there, but their women's program seems to have gotten Rick Barnes disease too. aTm is geting some talented players that Blair takes a bit of a chance on.

ISU has a great coach, big crowds, and some success. We just have to translate that into getting some of the upper echelon athletes that fill rosters at places like UConn, Stanford, and Tenn. With at least two of them in our own backyard, this summer's recruiting will be a major test of whether or not we can take that big step.

Honestly, I don't think they'll have trouble. Unless Baylor magically developed a much better backcourt since their game against us, UConn is going to be able to contain Griner and eat them alive from outside.

I agree. UConn could probably win taking nothing but 3s. Those girls can shoot.

Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving.

Baylor is the only chance against UConn in my opinion.

I sorta disagree with this, Stanford is an unbelievable team and in a regular year would have a great shot at the national championship. They only lost to UCONN by 10 or 12 or something earlier this year.

I realize they should have lost against Xavier, but they got lucky and moved on.

Well then UConn's definitely got that thing wrapped up. Baylor's got some glaring weaknesses that we exposed. UConn has none it seems.

UCONN may have chance to beat ISU, Baylor, and Oklahoma and be declared Big 12 champions.
