Is Kem Nweke out of the mix now that ISU has signed Vette?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dinger. I assume that the one big man would be Nweke since he is the only other person that Vette that I have heard is visiting. Any idea when we might find out if Nweke is offered or not?

There could be one more open scholarship depending on how the whole Dunson thing turns out. Brister takes the McIntosh scholarship and Vette takes Ross's, so that would let us sign one more if we want if Dunson stays and Thompson is not on scholie or if Dunson transfers. From what I have heard there is at least on more prospect in the mix for next year besides Nweke.

Feels like Vette & Brister are nice upgrades in both talent and athletic ability to the two we swapped them out for. Yeah we've got alot of new players, but I don't think alot of the problems last year were based on having a new system....I think it was mostly tied to a lack of a talent.

This team mostly just needs a couple really good ball handlers to help us become a more efficient offensive team.

Committing 7 scholarships all in the same class is rather rare.

I think that ISU still really needs to take a bruiser PF or post player yet this year. I'm not that familiar with Nweke's abilities, but he's big and pretty muscular, and if he is on par with Vette ability wise, ISU should make every effort to grab him.

This would be my take as well. Nothing like having a few bruisers down low to create space, grab rebounds, and get garbage buckets. Not to mention it helps to have them soak up defensive space as well.

All I know is we don't need a guy who can't get up and down the court. If he can move his 300+ lbs, great. If not, I'd just as soon we don't take him on hoping he loses weight.

no one is talking about 300 lbs. bruiser doesnt mean 300 lbs. jared homan wasnt 300 lbs. 6'10" - 7" and 240-265 lbs would be perfect.

Spot on with this comment. Nweke is not the answer. We either need to bank the scholarship (my personal preference) or sign a quality big that can contribute immediately.

I don't think Dunson is leaving, but IF he does, we will be hurting more a guard than frontcourt. Without him we start the season with 1 experienced guard with him, 2. If GMcD adds another player, it will be a guard.
