Doesn't seem like that many when you take out the secretaries and the director of operations and whatnot.

Maybe not. That HS relations position is pretty cool.

Actually I think there is a limit. I know there is in basketball. A school like Alabama would have a coach for every position on the offensive line if that were the case.

Re: How many football assistans can you have?

FBS (I-A) can have 12 coaches:
    1 - Head coach
    9 - Assistant coaches
    2 - Graduate assistants

Strength/weight coaches don't count against the total. Nor do undergrad coaches (as long as they meet a list of criteria).

Only 7 coaches can be on the road recruiting at any one time.

Thanks. I actually thought that was what it was, but I was thinking you could have 4-5 Grad assistants. I still think a high school relations coach is genius.

Probably just a trumped-up title for the assistant recruiting coordinator.

If we could get somebody that could land us half the in-state players it would be worth the money. I have said many times I would rather get players from talent rich states, but the amount of Iowa kids that play for Ferentz is getting old. We have missed out on some real studs. Sash would be nice to have right now.
