    Anyone been by Laverne today?

Any word on the search if they are done or if they are still looking?

They are searching again. Using some special sonar to either find him or say Lavern doesn't need to be searched anymore.

If there's a body in there, it'll come to the surface when the water warms up a bit.

What does the temperature of the water have to do with a body floating or not? Honest question, I really have no clue...
Either way, that's not something I'd like to see walking to class in the morning.

That's what I was thinking. Can't be much worse of a sight to see than that.

How deep is that lake? I was always under the impression it wasn't all that deep.

It is very shallow. Maybe 4 feet on average, 6-7 feet at the very deepest.

I think you can stand in most, if not all places. The pictures give it the impression that the rescuers are walking or wading through and they are still at least head above water

    I'd guess 6 feet max.

Then why do they need special sonar? I realize it's rather large in area, but wouldn't think sonar would be required.

I thought that Lake Laverne empties. Doesn't it go somewhere east of there? I didn't know if a body could fit thru wherever that might be.

The water might be really dark/murky to see anything more than 1 foot in front of your face.. Not sure, I haven't seen the lake in a year.

There are spots where you can't just walk across. Going with SCUBA isn't really effective, since the water is so dirty and murky. My guess is they're using it just to be 100% sure, since they have to be pretty much out of leads at this point.
