    Re: Cubs Finalize Pitching Staff

    Sounds good to me.

I like Jeff S's response as well. Nothing wrong with not liking a decision, but being man enough to get excited to do it well and earn your way on to something better, which Lou hinted was a pretty good possibility.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

    Re: Cubs Finalize Pitching Staff

As long as they actually use Russell in the pen it will be o.k. Stashing Patten in the pen last year was a horrible decision that took it's toll on the rest of the guys. I knew that Patton was underused last year but after checking his stats he only pitched in 27 innings, and most of that was mop up duty. Lou has to take advantage of the whole bullpen to keep everyone fresh throughout the whole season.

Tom's a cool kid, but not a #4 starter for a team that plans on contending...

Don't forget that Lilly will be back soon so Tom could be out of the starting rotation in a short period of time.

    Re: Cubs Finalize Pitching Staff

I have to congratulate the Cubs because they seem to have one of their better pitching staffs in a long time. This may be the year. Can we put them the Sports Illustrated cover?

Let my Fred's Posse Ride: Georges, Naz, Hogue, Bryce, Nader, Monte, Matt, and McKay.

I believe Patton was a Rule 5 guy that had only pitched at single A. It did suck to have him sitting on the bench, but do you really want someone to pitch who doesn't have the experience?

Didn't we get Silva in the Bradley trade? If we get anything from Silva it will be a bonus because really we just took him to get rid of the cancer in the locker room

    Re: Cubs Finalize Pitching Staff

Like I said, I just hope he's worth it. Getting rid of Bradley went in sort of a huff, I just hope getting Silva will be just as beneficial. (especially since we got money on top of it) just leaves me a little concerned, that's all.
