    Papa Chubby's

We ate supper there last night and it was awesome. I had a turkey salad and it was massive. Very excellent. The lady friend had pulled pork and she said it was alright. I recommend it as a place to try. It's on Oralabor close to DMACC.

    Re: Papa Chubby's

We ate there last weekend. I was highly disappointed. The brisket was really fatty, the turkey was more of a "pressed" meat than real turkey and the sausage was dry. We won't go back, there are a lot better places.

Plus - a turkey salad at a BBQ place isn't really a good representation of their food.

Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl.

Been there many a times, love the place, never had a bad brisket there, you must have had a really off night, best Brisket I have ever had in Des Moines area. Pulled Pork is very good also. I would recommend it.

I agree. The food is average to below average and is normally cold. Also, the owner or manager or whomever it was that was working when I have been there was not very friendly at all. The employees seemed to be nice though

I hate that place.. I live really close to there so I've been there a couple times and everytime it's been BAD and I really do not like their BBQ sauce.. but that's just IMO

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Cactus Bob's is the best barbecue joint I've found in the Des Moines area followed closely by KC Barbecue.

At a KC BBQ near you:

Chili Cheese Tenderloin $5.99 with fries and drink:

Add the Chili Cheese Fries $2.00 extra:

Put them together to form the Chili Cheese Fries Tenderloin:

I hope you didn't get all three of those in the same meal?!? Talk about an artery-clogger!
