Are the Women better than the Men in Big 12?

The Big 12 Women had seven seeds in NCAA: NebrasKie (1); Okie (3); Okie state (4); Texas (6); Baylor (4), Texas A&M (7)and ISU (4). NebrasKie, Okie, Baylor and ISU are still in the Sweet Sixteen. This is a 1-seed, a 3-seed, and two 4-seeds.

The Big 12 Men had seven seeds in NCAA: KSU (2); KU (1); Misery (10); Texas (8); Okie State (7); Baylor (3); and Texas A&M (5). KSU and Baylor remain in the Sweet Sixteen. This leaves a 2-seed and a 3-seed.

    What do you think?

The women had 7, you forgot A&M with a #2 seed.

Its comparing apples to oranges...the parity isn't there like there is in the mens game...theres a big drop off between the good womens teams as opposed to the bad ones....

The big 12 women are way more dominant than the big 12 men.

If Baylor wins tomorrow and the men have two in the elite 8, that's pretty solid.

On top of that, Kansas and OSU are the only teams that really under performed. The Big XII didn't get a lot of favors in the seedings and are still battling it out pretty well. And all the losses have been close haven't they. Some really close.

At the very least the Mens league has proven that they are the toughest conference in the country.

The women, there wasn't much doubt, overall - top to bottom.

    That's *very* debatable.

I think the Big 12 is the toughest, just look at the scores... the losses: KU, ATM, UT, even 4-12 TT in NIT all lost by 2 or less. There ain't no blow out losses like the Big East.

Please give me you're argument, so I can make you look stupid. It is debatable, because any fool can debate. They'll still be wrong.

True, but as long as it runs through the whole sport and each conference that is irrelevant. I think you have 3 programs that year in and year out dominate in the women but from there on I think you have 40-50 teams that are pretty equal. I feel the same about the men with a few more toward the top just because there is a larger talent pool. I just think that the parity is skewed in WBB because of UCONN. If you take them out I think there is pretty decent parity.

I think you are misunderstanding the premise of the question.

Re: Are the Women better than the Men in Big 12?

Understanding the premise of the question, yes the women are better and it is no contest. The women's basketball is to the Big 12 what football is to the SEC. What I mean by that is that the Big 12 is so much further ahead of the other conferences it isn't even a debate. That is not true in men's basketball. Yes, it is debatable whether the Big 12 mens is the best or not.

Keep in mind also, this was a rebuilding year for much of the Big 12. ISU, Baylor, OU, the list goes on, all lost several key players last year. It is indubitable that the Big 12 is down from last year, yet the Big 12 is still the best conference.
