    Lane Violation last night

What was everyone's opinion on the lane violation in the Michigan State game? I think it was a BS call and should not have been called. With 18 seconds left the ref calls a violation then?! It also really angers me because the call went MSU's way. I HATE THAT TEAM!!!

I wish they would have shown the replay with the camera on the right guy. It seemed like a BS time to call that.

I wish the NCAA bought new courts for all the arenas in 2001 so I don't have nightmares every time I see that crappy Boise State court.

    Re: Lane Violation last night

Was a BS call. The replay showed he hadn't placed his foot down in the lane before the ball was released.
If you watched the same guy on the free throw after the violation he did the exact same thing and it didn't get called.

    Total BS.

    Re: Lane Violation last night

These are my thoughts... it was a correct, yet ballsy call. the violation was pretty obvious. And yes, the timing was awkward, but when you look at it, the guy stepped pretty virgorously and early into the lane to box out the MSU guy. Yes, it makes it worse for us that it was MSU.. AND that it is often overlooked.. but it isnt always overlooked.. You see the call in other games... and again, it was pretty obvious.. but quite the call....

Correct, by the book, but it's a double standard. They swallow the whistle on jump shots with a few seconds left. I call BS.

    Re: Lane Violation last night

The lane violation call was correct...actually, both of the inside guys for NMSU were in too early. The problem is that they don't call that on a regular basis like they should.

The real hose job was at the end of the game when they did not go to the monitor to put more time on the clock for NMSU to get off the last desperation shot. They had only .3 seconds and should have had at least .7 seconds.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I agree, but if you're the NMSU coach, don't you walk out onto the floor and demand that?

    Re: Lane Violation last night

as an Iowa fan it reminds me of the 2005 Outback when Greenway was called offsides on the onside kick when he appeared to be dead even with the line when the ball was kicked......yet on any other kickoff you can always count several people offsides by several feet or even a yard or so yet when's the last time you saw an offsides called on a kickoff that wasnt onside related? They shouldnt have made that call last night....poor choice

Yup. I agree. One commentator thought they were calling it on the guy on the far side of the lane. Either way, they were both available for that call.

The replays did show a clear .7 seconds, though if MSU were picking off the pass, it's still not relevant.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

    Re: Lane Violation last night

Michigan State flat out owns the officials. It's rediculous. I am not even sure it was a lane violation. Also there should have been abou 1.5 seconds lfet when the ball went out of bounds. It rediculous.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Agreed. After the final whistle, I would really liked to have seen the NMSU coach go berserker LE-style on the officials
