    Anyone see Shawn Tirrell

ask Brands on weather he would conceed that they had the Championship wrapped up. Brands looked at him like he was going to rip his throat out. Funny as hell. Also is there a chance that anyone will beat Iowa in the next 10 years in this sport. I really don't see it happening. Not only are they the best they get stronger every year. I hate wrestling but I am pretty sure they are the most dominate college team in any sport.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

It would surprise me very much if they won the next ten. Assuming they win this year that would be how many in a row? Remember you have to be good and lucky (or should I say "not unlucky"). You can only (mostly) control one of those.

OSU is gonna kick everyones *** for the next 2-3 years. ISU and Iowa lose a lot of points to graduation this year.

Iowa under Gable was more dominate. 9 straight national titles at one point.

IMHO Iowa is currently running off of two extra recruting calsses. When Brands moved back to Iowa from Va Tech he bascially got to pick from the best kids from 4 recruting classes in a 4 year span. Those kids are almost gone. I think the next 2-3 year will paint a more acurate picture of Iowa wrestling. Hopefully JAckson will find a way to beat them on a regular basis.

Who is Shawn Tirrell. Any relation to Marty on Marty & McDermott from 1700 AM?

My point exactly. They couldn't get 10 in a row there. (Remember the roman numeral X on their singlets that year, only to lose it?) To do what Knownothing is suggesting would mean that they would go 13 in a row(2008-2010, then the next ten).

I've never completely understood this argument. All the guys except Metcalf are Iowa kids. There is no way they go to VT if Brands isn't there. Also, I think it's safe to say that if Metcalf is willing to go to VT of all places it's b/c Brands was there. The point being, I think it's a pretty safe bet all of those kids end up at Iowa if Brands was at Iowa at the time. And it's also pretty likely, I'd think, that even if Brands wasn't at Iowa, but wasn't coaching anywhere, that all the Iowa kids would've gone to Iowa.

I would think the smart money is on OSU next year, but I'm never shocked to see Iowa at or near the top. They do have an awful lot to replace. They might be able to replace a couple of those guys next year, but not even close to replacing all of them.

I think the UConn WBB team may have a dog in that fight.

I saw that. There was an awkward silence after that. Brands is such a head case

Probably would have, but there was no stepladder around.

Awesome. He represents the epitome of short man's disease. No disrespect meant to any of the vertically challenged here. Not all seem to have that ridiculously large chip on their shoulder.

Probably shouldn't post this on the wrestling board, should I?

It would help if they had some informed people doing the reporting. Why would you ever ask Brands that question?

Just like the play by play guy on ESPNU. I have never heard someone talk about riding time when it was totally irrelevant so much in my life. Just let Tim Johnson do it.

It's Terrell. He's a sports guy for WHO5. I lived with his younger brother for most of my time at ISU. Funny guy, think he was in KC before coming back to IA.
