    ISU 20 win seasons?

    I was thinking back..

Do we really have only two 20 win seasons since 1997?

I was thinking in 2004-5 we had 19?

Thank God for giving us Jamaal Tinsley for 2 years.

At least he was not researching 15 win seasons.

Actually I think the NIT semifinal team got to 20 wins with those wins in the tournament.

Only if you count his "spectacular" NIT run. And he did load up early on an easy schedule - that team was only 7-9 in conference.

I don't think that NIT team would be playing in the NIT this year (matter of fact, I don't think the NCAA Tourney team a year later would be dancing this year either)...

I think the 03-04 team would still have made NIT this season, even though it's 32 teams and not 40 but as I recall ISU wasn't an NIT-lock that year, either, so it might have been close.

04-05 team would have made this year's field easily that team got in fairly comfortably (partly fueled by the KU/UT wins), and this year's NCAA field was pretty squishy.

    Re: ISU 20 win seasons?

Wayne's NCAA tourney team would absolutely be dancing this year. Several quality wins other than the big ones against KU and Texas. They beat 13th ranked OU and they beat a good Texas Tech team at home. Not to mention Virginia was ranked when they beat them, although they faded hard that year.

Looking back at that year, Iowa was ranked 17th when we played them. The next year they were 12th and we kicked their *** in Hilton. How the mighty have fallen. Maybe Stevie Wonder wasn't that bad of coach in IC.
