    New Ideas for the thermometer?

Sorry TheHelgo, I know the ticket thermometer is your area, but maybe you can help out with some new ways to spark ticket sales.

I love the thermometer as most of you do, and I also find myself checking it every day to see the latest rise in temp...err...ticket sales, but does it need a change. Since its purpose is to use a set goal and to encourage ticket sales to meet that goal, should we set a new goal to reach rather than have the thermometer continue into the sky. Another idea would be to pick a specific section of the stadium (e.g., south endzone) and have a thermometer to encourage fans to fill up certain areas of the stadium. Which ever section is closest to being filled up can become the new thermometer and when that section is full we move to another section. This way we always have a goal...and one that is reachable. Not that selling out the entire stadium isn't reachable, just not likely.

There could be a rotation of thermometers that cycle with the current one. Hope im not making things too complicated. I love the thermometer, just trying to think of new ways to set and meet goals to add to the excitement of the upcoming season. I also hope that it doesn't take the idea of just breaking a record to push the average cyclone fan into buying tickets, but we all know that anything helps.

    Any comments and/or other ideas.

Do they even show the thermometer on Cyclones.com anymore? I have not seen it since about the time we passed the record.

Yep, they sure do. It's been on there the whole time. It shows the old thermometer as the ticket level rises until it shatters the top, then shoots up into the sky, amongst the clouds.

I kind of like the idea, Cyano.

    True and Valiant

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: New Ideas for the thermometer?

It would be cool to have a schematic of JTS as the thermometer - as sections fill, the appropriate section in the schematic would also fill up, starting at row one and working towards the top. That way we could also get a sense of where the seating is going - end zone seats remaining, student ticket seats remaining, and there could even be sections for hillside and suites.

Perhaps in the future we could have a map function where you can place a marker on on JTS where your seats are so you know if you're close to any other CF members.

I still do not see a thermometer at the cyclones.com site. Where is it located?

Just set it at sell out. We might not reach the goal but that is what we'd like to see happen. Gotta think like the Pollard on this.

If you're still having trouble finding it, it's on the main page of cyclones.com on the very top, right hand side. It cycles around with other announcements so you may have to wait a few seconds for it to appear.

Re: New Ideas for the thermometer?

I think they should come up with something new as well, now that they have broken the record quite handily. I do like the idea of having a thermometer for the sections closest to being filled. Should generate some excitement to get the whole place filled.

Don't know, but you might as well stick the rectal one up your tail for no more good than it does you!
