    Zach Johnson and the Rag

    http://www.desmoinesregister.com/app...10/1003&lead=1

Anyone find it ironic that the Rag is bustin on SI for not having Johnson prominently displayed on the cover when they didn't even send anyone to Augusta to cover it?

The rag is the rag is the rag. Everye once in awhile they'll throw a decent article together. It must be when all the writers are on vacation and the monkeys are doing the editing.

Re: Zach Johnson and the Rag

I don't get the Rag for obvious reasons, but Marty and Miller were saying that a large poster was going to be run of Zach. Did that happen?

Re: Zach Johnson and the Rag

There was a nice AP article in the Arizona Republic about Zach Johnson and the state of Iowa. It was titled: Iowans Elated over 'Master-ful' Win.

It had a lot of quotes from his Drake coach and former players saying how humble Zach is. Here's a quote from Zach:

"It means a lot. Iowans take a lot of pride from fellow Iowans," Johnson told ESPN on Monday. "I love going back. That's where everything started. ... I live in Florida now but going back to Iowa just feels great. I look forward to going back there with the green jacket."

Since it's an AP article, people may have already seen it, but I thought it was neat that an "Iowa boy" is getting some good press. When I see guys like Zach, Fred Hoiberg, Kurt Warner, and Kirk Heinrich represent the state well it makes me proud to be from Iowa. (It almost makes me forget that Ashton Kutcher is from Iowa.)
