    What one player...

are you most excited to see saturday?

I'm gonna cheat and say the D-line and Jason Scales. I think those are the positions that could win us 2 or 3 more games this fall.

    Re: What one player...

I am most exCYted about the O. Scheme, formations, plays, Meyer, Scales, Blythe ..... /goosebumps

    Please OLine, block, please!!

But alas, I won't be there. I am heading down to Arkansas, not for the BB coach opening, but for a golf weekend. I expect a full and detailed report from many of you attending.

    Go ISU!

But wanted one player.... hmmmmm, I would have to say Scales.

    - keep.

Scales is a good one. I for one want to see Meyer drop back and check down.

    Re: What one player...

I'm not going to be looking for any particular types of plays, schemes, etc - because not much at all will be shown.

I will see if the hype on Scales is true or not. I plan to watch Meyer and Arnaud closely - from a fundamental and decision making aspect.

I don't plan to spend a whole lot of time watching the lines on both sides - because those depth charts are going to change quite a bit come fall.

I want to see good things from SS James Smith. We heard a lot about him last year and he never seemed to get it on track after his injury. I still am looking forward to watching him play.

Rashawn Parker. Are we going to have a pass rusher or not?

He looked good in the practice I saw. Unfortunately, he participated in about 3/4 of it, tweaking that ankle again and getting some attention from the trainers.

I heard he was back on the field at the next practice - so probably not a big deal. We need him to stay healthy this fall.

    Scales.

He is a major key in the ability of our offense to be any good this year. That's not even considering that J.J. Bass may even be better than him, but if Scales really shows that he is the man, then if J.J. Bass starts over him that means we will have a really good running back and a good running back. Sweet.

    Re: What one player...

While I agree Scales is important, I don't think it's vital because hes' not the only guy we have to rely on. Supposedly, the best we've got at that position isn't even on campus yet.

And if Jason Harris learned how to not fumble, we could have something there, too.

Parker was outstanding in his first two collegiate games with three sacks, and then he recorded 0 sacks the rest of the year and one huge personal foul in Austin. I'm curious to see if we'll rush the quarterback when not blitzing.

    Re: What one player...

Scales is the player to spend the least time watching. He's already proved he's no durable enough for Big 12 level football. Keeler did ISU fans a huge disservice by hyping him for this season.

Can I vote for Gene Chizik? I'm really looking forward to seeing his demeanor on the field.

    Re: What one player...

I'm going to be watching the O-Line. While are D-Line will get majorly shook up in the fall with the addition of Lyle, Weir, and Tate; our offensive line candidates are pretty much all here outside of true freshmen.

I want to see what Brandon Johnson and Doug Dedrick have to offer. I hear that Dedrick is the best pass blocker, but that is expected from a nimble 270 pounder. I'll also be takin a hard look at Brandon Johnson and Blaes.

But since we gotta chose one, i'll go out on a limb and say Deric Schmidgall.
