    How will you remember CB?

I was thinking today, how will Craig be remembered in Cyclone history? I feel bad for him that he wasnt a part of a winning program while at ISU. Obviously if he had more to work w/ he would have done much better imo. I think that he would def be top 10-15 skilled players we have ever had at ISU

Do you think that people will remember him like Fizer and Hoiberg ect. Or will he be lost in the shuffle since the team was bad?

Re: How will you remember CB?

You do bring up a really good point. It would mean so much more down the road if one of his teams had gone somewhere. I just hope to remember him as a guy who gave up a golden option on the NBA to give us one more year - sure the year didn't pan out, but he still stuck with it. That one year may have cost mine hundreds of thousands of dollars, so you have to respect that.

He will not be remembered like Fizer.....that team had too much success in comparison to the ones CB played on. Hoiberg......he was a hometown boy, so......... I think Craig will be remembered much like Rashon Clark is. A lot may depend too on what kind of a career, if any that CB has at the next level. If he is successful there, his time here will be remembered more fondly, probably.

I will also remember that he came back knowing that it could hurt him. I will remember him as being talented, well spoken, good leader, and as a very respectable face of ISU sports. Also, very unselfish as it seems. I just hope we give him what he deserves in years to come.

I will remember him as a guy who came back when he could have gone pro and represented the university well as bringbackmagic said.

Re: How will you remember CB?

I will remember him as a very soft, gentle, and wonderfully nice gentleman.... both on and off the court.

That's great in one sense, and not so much in the other. But if I were a parent, I'd rather have him be that way instead of the other way around, where he was an arrogant jerk off the court, but a monster on the court.

for this: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8WWcE_rZIg"]YouTube - Craig Brackins Dunk vs. Mississippi Valley State[/ame]

seriously he will be remembered as a Great Cyclone on and off the court, did the teams he played on win like Fizers? of course not, but I think he tried his hardest for Iowa State at all times, and that is all you can ask of someone.

Really good player on horrible teams. One of the lone bright spots of the McDermott era.

Re: How will you remember CB?

He's not even close to being a Marcus Fizer... or a Jeff Grayer.

He was an above average Cyclone basketball player. But he was soft. Fizer was the direct opposite of soft. Other than wide open dunks, I don't ever remember Brackins going hard to the hoop... ever!

Don't get me wrong... he was probably one of the top 25 players to ever wear an ISU uniform... but he wasn't top 10.

Re: How will you remember CB?

I will remember him as the guy who had two amazing games (against Baylor and KU) that ISU lost. I really think that this will also be McDermott's final season and we will remember them both as being part of a team that couldn't ever put things together until it was too late (i.e. Kansas State win).

He'll be another Lafester Rhodes. He'll be known for the one game that he put up 42 pts against Kansas... and that's it.

That might be hard to take, but that's what he was. It's not entirely his fault that he played on bad teams, but it is what it is. He won't be remembered for much. The one game against Kansas and the one bad decision to not go pro after his sophomore season. That's it. Sorry.

If he somehow becomes a star in the NBA, then he will be remembered a LOT more though.
