    Xbox 360 connection

OK, I'm curious and trying to get something to work.

Our apartment is providing wireless internet through Mediacom (which has it's own potential problems, but that's neither here nor there right now).

I'm wondering: Can I wire my 360 into our old Linksys router, and then connect that to the Internet through the other wireless access point?

I don't know about that but I do know you can plug your router into the wall and run a wired connection to your box and then connect wirelessly to your computer.

    Did I help?

No. We don't have any wired access points for Internet service. Geniuses only provided the wireless access point. Great for the computers, but I'm trying to see if I can get this to work.

So basically you want to use your Xbox as the access point and run your connection from the Xbox to the router. Wow, I don't know.

If you invest in a wireless adapter for your 360 everything is 100x easier!! well worth the money if you ask me

The test shows that the XBox is connecting fine to the router. The router to wireless access point connection isn't working.

That's the fallback, but I'm trying to do this on the cheap.

It's easy but expensive mine was $100.

If I have the router CD, does it work to install that to the 360?

I tried to do it cheap for a few months by plugging my ethernet into the computer and using the wireless signal from the laptop but after awhile I just forked over the 100 and im glad i did.... the convenience is worth it

Could possibly connect through your computer and use Internet Connection Sharing assuming it's a PC.

You will have to go to control panel, then manage networks and bridge the connection from wireless signal to cord so it works... but when online just dont let the computer go to sleep or it will disconnect you... i can explain more in detail if you want... just pm me

    Re: Xbox 360 connection

Exactly what cp44 said, erik ... Only way to get that to work is to connect your xbox to your cpu and bridge the connections ... I tried to do what your asking a while back to no avail ... If you have any questions let one of us know ...

    Re: Xbox 360 connection

Hmmmm, ethernet port on computer seems to have an issue connecting. Computer shows that the two are bridged, but the 360 is showing that it's not connection to the computer.
