First time to attend a Spring Game

This will be our first year to attend a Spring Game. What should we expect to see? How early do we need to arrive to get good seats? How long will it last? Anything else we need to know?

    Sorry for the newbie questions.

    Seats aren't a real problem.

Only been to one (last year). It's interesting, but it can be tough to follow, especially with all the new guys on defense.

But it has Cyclones, and it's outdoors, and a pretty good price, so it's a good time.

Show up a couple minutes before kickoff and you will get a good seat. It's fun because it's a really relaxed atmosphere and it gets your blood flowing for football season.

There will be many tailgaters if you are into that sort of thing. WOnt be many more than 7-10k people there, so there will be plenty of seats, even though they make us all sit on one side anymore.
Not really sure, but its about 1.5 hours long, short halftime. Usually rains or cloudy weather, but not always. Bring warm clothes even if you have to leave them in the car, maybe even a poncho or hooded rain jacket.

You'll likely see a pretty cool Bo Williams highlight that will have people stirred up for months on end.

We're bringing the kids. Will they let us bring a backpack in?

Arnaud won't play that well, and Tiller will look good against the back ups, and that won't die till football season.

The #1 thing to bring to the Spring Game is the understanding that what you see, good or bad, probably doesn't mean a damn thing come fall.

    I'd imagine they would.

Be careful, or you'll end up sitting next to chadm. That can make a short experience seem much, much longer.

It won't die until the bowl game, should we get there.

    More stupid questions...

Is it 1st string against 2nd string or do they mix it up?
Do the players wear their uniforms with names and numbers?
What about players that don't have a number on the roster yet?

It's a pretty good time. You'll get to see everyone play so keep your program handy. You'll see alot of new #'s out there.

I hope the players come over and sing the fight song.

Re: First time to attend a Spring Game

its hard for an offense to click when they are playing against the same defense that has been practicing against them for 2 years.

You would think the defense would struggle equally, but that usually isn't the case.
