Who would hold it against Pollard?

Honestly, who would hold it against Pollard to go back against his word now and fire Greg McDermott? Other than maybe McDermott and his staff, would anyone? I guess it COULD hurt with hiring future coaches or something just because they may not know whether his word is true or not, but still.

I know for a fact that I wouldn't hold it against him.

I don't even see how it's an option for him at this point.

No, I think it would be as funny as GMAC suspending players and then letting them play.

That would essentially be him coming out and saying, "Uh yeah, so all that stuff I fed you about integrity and character....uh...that was all just bull! April fools?!?!!"

No way that he does that.

Some people will want Pollard fired even if he handed them a pot of gold.

There is a group of fans that just doesn't like him.

Re: Who would hold it against Pollard?

Worrying about Pollard and his word is the least of our worries.

He needs to be asking-- what kid will want to come to Iowa state to play for Greg McDermott?

As Gary Thompson would always say-- stop the bleeding!!!!!! JP get it over with!!

How could GMac and JP not know about Ham and Buckley before their press conference the other day? If they didn't, then something is really, really wrong with this program folks!

And if they did know about Ham and Buckley, then why would JP give his full support behind GMac?

It HAS to be completely about money at this point. We cannot afford to pay GMac off, and get anyone else any better. But that falls totally on JP. No AD in their right mind hands out contracts like that to unproven coaches.... nobody.

JP got himself into this mess, but there's no way out of it now. He doesn't have the money. He just has to rest his entire reputation on GMac being able to show something next season IMO.

Re: Who would hold it against Pollard?

You think the media is hard on JP now? They would have a field day with him if he went back on his statement now.

This is all on him now. He owns this.

Re: Who would hold it against Pollard?

If Pollard knew about the transfers before making his previous announcement, there is absolutely no way he goes back on that. It would look like he caved to public pressure after making a mistake in judgement.
