    Painful to even talk about

    Take a look at the remaining 4 teams in the B12 tournament:

    Baylor
    K-State
    Texas A&M
    Kansas

    3/4 of those teams were bottom feeders and were automatic wins everytime they showed up in Hilton the last time ISU mattered in MBB. We've got a long, long road ahead of us.

    <Sigh>

    Kansas wears Adidas.

    Yeah...but there are 7 other teams along with us thinking the same thing.

    There would not be anywhere close to the number of melt downs on this board if there weren't so many distorted views of the history of ISU basketball. KU has nearly a 3:1 and KSU nearly a 2:1 advantage in the all-time series with ISU. Even Texas A@M has a slight advantage although there is not enough history with either them or Baylor to label either side a "bottom feeder".

    Personally, I think thats a hopeful thing. Turnarounds can happen quickly in MBB.

    Good post but not exactly what I was getting at. I'm not talking all time, I'm talking the time periods we were good.

    It all goes in cycles. We have never maintained a stretch of always being in contention for a conference championship - aren't LE's the only 2 in recent memory. The biggest problem that I have is including Kansas State in the "bottom feeder" category. They have had many more extended cycles of success than we have had.

    Actually, I guess we also had a quick turnaround, it was just in the wrong direction!

    The Baylor thing is even more painful, with that whole murder thing.

    ISU has always pretty much sucked in mens basketball and football. our all time numbers suck against pretty much every single team. heck only duke was a worse winning percentage in football over the last like 20 years... i went to school during a great time... 99-05... beautiful memories...

    The difference between those schools and ISU is, they have a lot better coaching. Not better players, better coaching. LE would have won a lot of games with this years group.

    Re: Painful to even talk about

    I don't think Buckley had Big 12 talent but losing Hamilton is shocking. He was improving each year like Homan and I expected him to be a very good center in the next couple of years. Isn't he the kind of player that fits GMac's mold? This is a real slap in the face and another blow to the program that has had nothing but blows the last 4 years.
