    Food for thought

Love the coaches, hate the coaches, or indifferent toward the coaches, the team needs your full support next year. Whether or not you agree with things, this is still your team, and deserves your full support. Calling for firing of coaches right now is going to do nothing but hurt the team and recruiting, especially considering we already know Mac is coming back for another year. Don't agree with the coaches? Fine, but don't let that affect your support of the team as a whole.

Cyclone fans have been more supportive of this coaching staff than any other fanbase in the country would.

Good post, but don't count on it.

Many have made up their minds and I have no doubt will be ACTIVELY campaigning against the team next fall. Sad - but that's the way it is.

Heck, more than a few were doing that this season.

    Re: Food for thought

Shouldn't the coach's and players share in the responsibilities. I think the fans have been outstanding during the last four years. It's time for the coach's and players to start giving something back.

Please don't blame the fans for lack of results or potentially future missed recruiting opportunities that is pure BS.

It would only take the team to start playing better and winning and this would all disappear.

I will be supporting Greg again until that time that the chance for a successful season has passed.

My major beef is with those who aren't capable of admitting Greg at least partially owns the team's failures this season.

such BS. People think the coach stinks and are bitter he's getting another year to give us another crappy outcome, but they're not "ACTIVELY campaigning against the team".

can I say "GMac a horrible Big 12 coach who's screwing up our program" without someone taking it as "I hate ISU basketball"

I freaking LOVE ISU basketball!!! That's why it hurts so much!!!

99% of fans out there would LOVE us to win, but they're aligning their expectations with the product we've been provided for 4 straight seasons. Who in their right mind would reasonably say we have a shot at the tourney next year? That's HUGE homer talk right there, and while thats well and good, reasonable people should be allowed to voice displeasure in a reasonable manner without being made out as the equivalent to foosball.

I think some are reasonable, and that's great. Losing is disappointing.

I think it's mostly the more extremely polarizing guys that shape a climate where everything is way too cut-and-dried, and it all gets too hypersensitive.

If you're disappointed that we're not going to the NCAAs, we're together on that. I firmly expected to, and was looking forward to the idea of calling in to work from my seat at a tourney venue.

Sometimes, maybe it's not the message but how it's said. We have some folks that can't go one post without trying to stir up some kind of storm.

    Re: Food for thought

I'll have my season tickets next year. I'll try to make it to as many games as I can. I'm not going to call for McDermott to get fired at any point. But I'm through with hope. This team needs to prove it to me before I have any expectations of success at this point and I don't think that's unfair.
