    Tickets for Home Games

    Hey guys -

    Brand new here, just signed up today. I'm a Cyclone implant after growing up in the northeast and have been to 3 games in Ames so far, but hope to make it to 2 or 3 more next season. I had a couple of quick questions...

    1) Is it fairly easy to get tickets outside of the stadium on gameday?

    2) Are there any parts of the stadium I should try to avoid (bad view, etc.)? The games I've been to were in Section 12, but I won't have access to those seats anymore.

    You can walk up on gameday and get tickets to any home games except Iowa or Nebraska.

    No bad seats in the house although some are better than others. You get what you pay for.

    Welcome.

    There are always people selling tickets on game day.

    Being on the far end of the field is about the only "bad view" I can think of. I prefer to be in the second level to get a wider view myself.

    If you can pull off being young enough to be a student, find an uber-drunk coed with a student ticket. Make sure that it is obvious that she is not going to make it to gametime before passing out. You can either get the ticket for free or for just a few bucks depending on her BAC.

    Ha ironically Nebraska is one of the games I'm interested in. But if there are quite a few people scalping tickets on gameday, I'll probably try that option.

    Only about half the time. If you're not in the initial student section rush, you've got a good chance they won't even look. If they do you pull the ole' "Ah crap, I left my student ID in the dorms" routine. They won't make you go get it.

    Bottom 20 rows in the lower level suck...that's my personal opinion. Not a bad seat in the balcony.

    I like being in the lower deck because I feel closer to the action. However, the seats in the upper deck give you a better view of the field, IMO.

    You're better off just buying the $60 dollar hillside. That game will scalp for a lot more than that.

    If you are under 29, you can get a season ticket in the stadium for $225. Or a hillside season ticket for $99. For the lower demand games, tickets can be had very cheap on eBay and StubHub.

    I think the hillside tickets for the iowa game were only 30 or 40 bucks last season.
