    OT: Nintendo Wii

I've wanted one since they came out but have never been able to find one. I had the chance to play one for a couple of hours yesterday and now I want one even more.

Anyone have one? If so, how did you get it? A couple people I know who have one basically lucked out and saw one on the shelf. Any tips on how I can get one (and not paying an extra $100 on eBay)?

    Re: OT: Nintendo Wii

I waited in line launch day back in November for about 5 hours at the local walmart. Fortunately, it was indoors, so it wasnt too bad. As a matter of fact it was the same day we beat mizzou in football, i went to the store right after the game.

Here are 2 resources you can try

    http://forums.slickdeals.net/forumdi...p?sduid=0&f=36

this forum might help you get an idea of where to get one or when they will be in stock

    www.gonintendo.com

sometimes this site catches wind of new sipments and will give you a heads up on where to pick them up. (This site told me that target would be getting a new shipment about 3 days before it happened and i informed some coworkers who were able to get in and pick up a Wii no hassel)

    Re: OT: Nintendo Wii

When I got one, I called every Walmart in Ankeny and Des Moines asking if they had any in stock. One Walmart had 8 in stock. It took me a half hour to get there. They had just 3 left after I got mine.

Try asking a Walmart clerk in the electronics area what day their shipments come in. They don't know if they will be getting them on their shipment, but if you know the days and times they come in, then you have a better shot at finding one.

    Re: OT: Nintendo Wii

They're not too hard to find (of course I'm in Houston so that helps).
My sister's family has one. It's definitely fun. I don't know if I would use it enough to justify buying one though. I'm still having a blast with my 360.
Good luck in your search for one.

    Re: OT: Nintendo Wii

Well I've been hitting the Wii trail pretty hard the past week to no avail. I have a couple of nice leads and may have to get up extra early this weekend to try and get one. We'll see if the alcohol allows me to do so...

Just a couple of notes: Don't even try Best Buy...they haven't seen a shipment for months. Target gets them about once per month but on no schedule. Walmart gets a few per week but again, no schedule.

    Re: OT: Nintendo Wii

I have one, I love it. I cant stop playing Zelda. They are hard to find around here in Sioux City. I definitely want to pick up the rechargeable battery and charge station. I want a 360 as well, but am waiting till the next revision like i did on the xbox. I have every Nintendo system and will always support them. As for getting a Wii, it helps to know someone at these stores. I would suspect that you should be able to find one before too long. It sucks to wait, but by that time, maybe they will have some new features. =) The big N has a funny way of improving their current system. ie the DS. mmmmmmmmm I loves me the DS Lite

    Re: OT: Nintendo Wii

Well I found a Wii just before I left for vacation last week. I've been playing it quite a bit the past 2 days and it's great! Alot of fun.

It's amazing the amount of movements the system picks up. For example...when playing Wii Sports Baseball, you can wiggle the bat (a la Gary Sheffield) and it registers with the Wii.

I'd highly recommend it especially because of the $250 price tag and not $400-$600 like the Xbox or PS3.

    Re: OT: Nintendo Wii

I think the wii is awesome and the wife likes it alot more than the ps3 but the kicker with the ps3 is that it is a blu-ray disk player. that makes the ps3 worth every penny.
