    Re: ISU v. Ranked Opponents

Interesting stats. GMac has played almost 2 less ranked teams per year than our other coaches if I'm reading that right. I assume our non-conference schedule has been weaker (Iowa being down the last few years probably accounts for one of those games).

It's absolutely the case that our non-conference schedule has been far weaker as of recent times. You also need to take into account that we are not playing any teams that are ranked in the post season the last few years because we obviously are not making it. One other thing to take into account is that for a lot of the JO era we played fewer total games (everyone did) and the rankings only went to #20...not #25.

I'll tell you what really popped out to me was how well WM did against ranked teams. Another thing was that it appears Floyd preferred the neutral site games to both home and away. Lastly, I see a lot of posts on here that claim GM is 1 for 21 against ranked teams but my research says it is 1 for 20.

Yes I noticed that about Morgan too. He's actually head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to beating ranked teams.

It's totally true...McDermott is horrible against ranked opponents...but don't expect a lot of responses to this thread now that people think McDermott is god again.

This makes me wish more of WM's players would have stayed to support the University and the fan base. I wonder if McD would have won or lost with their talent.

We have had just as much, if not more talent with GM than we did with WM.

It SHOULD make you wish that McD would have worked harder re-recruiting the players that were here.

But that doesn't fit the agenda.

Noone thinks he is God. They are happy with the win. No reason to call anyone out.

McDermott isn't god, but if he's going to be our coach for another year, I'm glad we've finally seen some signs of life out of this program. If McDermott can get these guys to play that way throughout the tourney, and basically deliver a miracle, I think he can start winning guys like me back.

I don't have an agenda. Stop making ASSUMPTIONS about people you do not know (I can capitalize entire words, too. I really think it makes me look more intelligent and sophisticated).

In case you are wondering, your two sentences contain at least four assumptions. If you can figure them out maybe you'll learn something.

Because his first year is so far his best year in conference play, I don't think you'd be going out on a limb saying he could win with that talent.

What ******* agenda? Who the hell cares about re-recruitng those guys now. Would they still be here? Does that impact our situation now? No it doesn't. You call out everyone elses agenda. You seem to be the one with the agenda. that agenda is to stir up whatever history or past success in order to push Mac into a hole. I have some news. None of that **** matters now. No matter what previous coaches did we still understand success has not been had in the last 4 years, well actually 5 with those players you wish he had re-recruited.

If you don't understand what it would have meant to retain players off of that team for the past three years, then you don't have a clue about basketball. If you don't realize how many times that has been used as an excuse for how bad we have been the last three years, then you are even more clueless.

This guy was taking a shot at kids who decided that there were better opportunities out there for them. Even though they were already here, and were going to have to sit out to leave.

Of course reading back through your posts the fact that you have waffled three times in the last week show that you do a great job of thinking on your own.
