Which is the lessor of two negatives?

Having a top ranked team in the beginning of the year, losing many games in conference and dropping out of the top 25 by the time the tournament starts

    OR

Having an ISU team that no one but the fans really thinks had a shot at doing some pretty good things, but not winning any close games and finishing right around .500 with no post season.

I will take the second scenario, while Texas will still make the tournament and still has the chance to win a lot more games - having a series of Hamptons would almost be harder to deal with - Hampton was like a rifle shot to the dream while the texas situation is slow death by torture.

When you have no real expectations, it makes it easier to deal with in my opinion

Yep, nothing better than our team sucking this year

Yeah... I would rather have our team sucking all year, then slowly fading away after being number 1 early in the season. Gosh going to the NCAA tournament is a terrible consolation for the season that Texas is having.

Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. (replace the word love, with ranked.)
So, in this case, I'd rather have scenario 1.

Re: Which is the lessor of two negatives?

Texas has lost two great guards and are still going to the tournamnent. Texas is underacheiving but they ooze talent. They can still make a deep run in the tournament. If a team is not in the tournament they can't make a run.
