    Senior Day

Thought I'd start a thread for people to post thoughts on our 5 seniors.

My thoughts on the 5 seniors who will play their last REGULAR season game in Hilton today. This class is very special to me not just because of their on court success. This class will be the first in a long time to go to the NCAA's all four years.

Alison "Aus" Lacey - I could write forever about the impact Aus made for ISU and still not do her justice. She can flat out do it all, and stats back that up as this year she did something no one at ISU has done (1,500 points, 500 rebs, 500 assists). I'll miss her three point attempts from 30 feet+. Sucks so much that she will not play today, but like I said in another thread hopefully her Hilton days are not done after today.

Denae Stuckey - Denae where to begin. Probably the most exciting player I've watched at ISU. NEVER takes a play off and truly gives 110%. Watching her has been a privilege.

Anna Florzak - While Anna didn't see the court as much as I would have liked she is still very special. After Mary Fox and Lyndsey Medders (at the time) Anna became the next player I honored by getting a jersey made with her number which I wear to the games. Moment I'll remember most with Anna is the game at Iowa her freshman year. Iowa was winning and ISU was not playing well. Other ISU fans where on their feet but I remained seated. I said that ISU needed to give me a reason to get up. Not long after that Anna hits a huge three that got me up and started a run that ended up winning the game.

Shellie Mosman - Another senior who doesn't much playing time but very special. Shellie is pure positivity, and always has smile on her face. She also had an impact in her freshman year. ISU played Virginia Tech in a Thanksgiving tourney in Pepperdine. Shellie hit 2 three's which help ISU get the win. Earlier this year in a game that I missed and never forgive myself for Shellie started and had career highs with 3 treys, 14 points and 5 assists.

Genesis Lightbourne - What to say about Gen? First off I truly believe she is the nicest, friendliest person I've ever met. Injuries have hampered her somewhat, but still of the most athletic players to play at ISU. She has also had a impact that helped ISU to one of their most exciting wins. Gen had 2 baskets and 3 rebs in the OT Big 12 tourney thriller with KSU in K.C two years ago. Being Senior Day Gen's family will be in town for the second time in her four years.

    Re: Senior Day

Sorry, but we can't leave out Brittney Lange who doesn't play anymore but will be honored along with the ladies who still wear the uniform. Britt had some serious injuries and has helped the team as a student assistent for the past two years.

Gonna be some misty eye's in Hilton this afternoon and I'll be one of them!

Thanks for the memories ladies. All of you will always be CYCLONES!!!

Thanks for this. Didn't intend to miss Brittney. It's a great group of ladies.

    Re: Senior Day

Unfortunately due to a coaching committment, I had to miss my first senior day in 12 years. If someone sees that the video of the senior speeches is posted somewhere, please post it here. I am always impressed with the speaking abilities of these fine young ladies. I felt worse about missing the speeches than I did missing the game.

It's already up at Cyclones.com - in videos and features. I was able to watch it yesterday but I don't think it showed Brit's speech.
