Ticket Sales next year for MBB

will be good. Maybe a little down. However we are Iowa State and we buy tickets. It's just what we do. We support our teams like no other University.
How many years did we suck in football and yet we kept showing up. We kept hope alive. I will be at basketball games next year as well. They are my Cyclones. You don't want to go then don't. More Nacho's for me.

Oh yeah and be sure not to jump back on the bandwagon when we get rolling again. That is what Hawk fans do.

so ... only buy tickets when we suck?

is that the master plan? We're gonna sell out next year if that works.

Um, yeah...like we fill the football stadium after October 1 every year...seems to me I was joined by a ton of empty seats at the Okie state game this year...and we even had a decent team. The crowds for the last half of the basketball season have been packed too .

5 straight basketball season with losing records yet we are ranked top 30 in attendence this year.

Horrible football school and had won 5 of our last 19 games and we still had great crowds.

You find another university that has sucked at the 2 major sports as bad as Iowa State the last 5 years. Then you find there fans. You won't.

2004 vs Mizzou for the Big 12 North title, JTS was 3/4 full at best. Find me another school where that would happen....don't get me wrong there are a number of die-hards at ISU that show up no matter what...myself included, but when it gets a little cold out, there are a ton of "fans" that just don't show up for football games, regardless of how good the team is. The basketball fans show up when the team is successful. The fact that we are in the top 30 is based on paid attendance, not the 6000 that have been showing up recently.

Re: Ticket Sales next year for MBB

I dumped my tickets this year, and it was the wise decision. No apologies from me. McD basketball is boring to watch, and the fundamentals are atrocious.

I hope more people dump their tickets to send a message to JP if McD is retained.

Can't compare football to basketball. I went to ISU in the early 90s and didn't miss a football game and had a blast. ISU tailgating is awesome no matter what happens on the field.

These games are exciting all the way to the finish. I'm very glad that I stuck it out with every game.

I hope people pick up the tickets people dumped, and are on board as things turn around.

I think we'll sell at least 1k fewer per game. I would bet on 2k fewer. At least 30k fewer sold overall throughout the season.

Not a chance, I doubt they sell 5,000 season tickets with Mac still there. Talking to many season ticket holders around me a few games ago NONE of them will renew with Mac back in 2010.

People talk big, though, until it's time to buy or not buy. Then I imagine they stick it out, to keep their seats if nothing else. Most people are all talk.
