    Dave Attell

Not sure if any of the TC area people are fans of Dave Attell but he is in town this weekend (starting tonight). I enjoyed his show on Comedy Central and looking forward to seeing him live, I have heard it is a great show. Has anyone seem him perform live?

Yeah, saw him when he was at Hilton for VEISHEA. From what I remember it was decent. He like to talk about getting it from behind a lot.

    Re: Dave Attell

I remember he did his Jager Commercials at that VEISHEA show. Some of the best stand up I've ever heard. I was in tears, but after that bit the rest of it didn't seem as good. It was good but just not quite as funny as the early part of the show.

There was some heckler named Jason and he just ripped him up and down.

I was there as well, but thought the show was horrible. I was excited to see him, and walked away just about as disappointed as ever...

Saw him at Hoyt Sherman this year when he came through town. Both my wife and I had a great time. As long as you liked his show or specials, you'll enjoy it.

Yes, his VEISHEA show was god awful. There's off-color comedy and then there's just hoping somebody laughs because you said something dirty. He was definitely the latter.

Saw him 5 or 6 years ago and thought he was great. Of course the condition I walked around in back in those days I'm sure I wasn't too hard to make laugh.

You didn't find the Jager commercials funny? I was damn near ******* myself. They weren't profane for profanity's sake, just flat out funny.

Honestly, I don't remember a lot of the show, I just remember being really disappointed. I actually liked what I had seen of him on comedy central, but I thought the bulk of his VEISHEA show was bad. To be fair, I probably didn't go with the right group of people to really enjoy that show with either, but I would still say it was the most disappointing comedy show I went to while I was at Iowa State. John Oliver two years later blew him out of the water in my opinion.

I remember the sound being bad, like it was hard to understand what he was saying. Maybe he was just drunk, I don't know.

    Re: Dave Attell

The show at VEISHEA was very good. Unfortunately, a lot of people in Ames don't have the sense of humor to get most of his jokes. I was surprised more people weren't laughing, but laughed at the lame opener comics. Then again, I really don't trust many people's sense of humor around Ames (for myself I mean).

Worst comedy show too at ISU was like three years ago when they had a show of three comedians at CY Stephens. Some of the worst comedy I've ever heard.
