Question for all the McDermott's supporters that are left

What make you think he is going turn around the ISU basketball program as he has yet to do that? What has he shown you as a supporter of McDermott that he will turn it around?

this is year 4 of his regime at ISU as he is going to have ISU finish last or 11th place in the conference

PS....Shouldnt in year 4 of his coaching regime that ISU should be above 6 in the conference.....

re: Question for all the McDermott's supporters that are left

I just feel that if given the time another (1-2) years without player defections and he truly get's his guys in there he will do something special. His and his staff work ethic shows and it will do wonders when we get some good players in here that want to be here.

To tell you the truth Colvin and Dendy are the only one's that I truly think want to be here and want to be playing, when someone else does something big especially when they are on the bench they jump up and go crazy...no one else does. The other night Dendy got up on his seat and urged the fans to stand up and get loud. I don't know if it's the stress or they are burned out but most of the rest of the team just looks dead half the time.

You seemed confident that 2009-2010 would be a successful year too.

With status quo in the coach ranks -what specifically is going to change in 2010-2011 to suggest that ISU will be competitive in the Big XII?

What will be the identity of he team next year? More so what will be the identity of the program into perpetuity?

What makes you think we SHOULD be above 6th? Shouldn't we be trying to win the conference every year?

We want to see results from said work though, and that's just not happening right now.

What evidence do you see that makes you feel like one, the work we are doing is the right work, and two, that we are successfully moving towards some goal or vision with the completion of that work? I haven't seen much on the floor over four years to give me confidence in that, but I know that your perspective on these things is much different than mine.

Everybody wants to see results...Fans are no different than the players or coaches in that regard.

Amazing how many people are quiting on them, but yet the ones putting in the work, haven't quit.

re: Question for all the McDermott's supporters that are left

I thought McDermott was a good hire at the time, but he'll never be able to keep up with the rest of the Big 12 coaches after the start he has had. We need to start over much like Kansas State and Mizzou did. Trends are so important for coaches and our coach is trending in the wrong direction.

    Kansas 14-1 .933 28-2 .933
    Kansas State 11-4 .733 24-5 .828
    Baylor 10-5 .667 23-6 .793
    Missouri 10-5 .667 22-8 .733
    Texas A&M 10-5 .667 21-8 .724
    Texas 9-6 .600 23-7 .767
    Oklahoma State 8-7 .533 20-9 .690
    Colorado 5-10 .333 14-15 .483
    Texas Tech 4-11 .267 16-13 .552
    Oklahoma 4-11 .267 13-16 .448
    Iowa State 3-12 .200 14-16 .467
    Nebraska 2-13 .133 14-16 .467

CW was hammering on it after the loss on Tuesday night...We don't know how to win. It will come...IMO, biggest thing is no seniors, that have been through the wars, to steady the ship.

To the OP - great post! Had this same question running through my mind this week. At this point, maybe I am just looking for anything to be hopeful about.
