    News from tonight's recruiting outing

I am not sure if this is common knowledge right now or not but they coaches did say tonight that Bob Elliott will be Iowa State's new recruiting coordinator, along with coaching the secondary as well.

So in your opinion Chris is that basically just a title in this program or do you think he will behind the majority of the recruiting plans?

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

also to nte if you did not make it.. do your best to make events like this.. it was a blast and it was cool to talk to the coaches

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

That was a fun night. Nice to see the recruits on the big screen (vs a tiny computer screen) and hear the coaches take on them. Cheap food and drinks too -- always a plus!

Isn't he double signed with a JUCO? Better pray he makes grades (gets his test scores).

Re: News from tonight's recruiting outing

Bobby Elliott told me that he will recruit California and Iowa. Said it's nice because a lot of the high school coaches are still around from when he was last here. Was a great guy to talk to

I know someone who was a longtime friend of Danny Mac, and when Bobby Elliot left Mac's staff, he bemoaned the loss of Elliot's eye in evaluating talent--one of the unheralded skills any coach brings to the table, especially when at a school like ISU, where you aren't constantly recruiting blue chippers (yet).

So I suspect that Bobby won't just be a "figurehead" recruiting coordinator.
