    substate basketball

its that time of year in Iowa I think. I looked on the internet for scores and it looks like Dowling is going to state. I think CR Washington and SE Polk made it to state too. Did any of you guys here go to any substate games?

Went to the Linn Mar PV game. Paige barely played. PV had a kid that couldnt hold on to the ball the first half, second half comes out and couldnt miss a shot. Linn Mar pulled it out in the last minute by 3.

7 straight years...proud of them, they have worked very hard this year, hopefully I can catch them in Des Moines.

I saw the 2nd half of Wash and the first half of Linn-Mar. Linn-Mar had a good first half but apparently struggled in the 2nd. They are all playing for 2nd place.

    Re: substate basketball

The SEP/Hoover game was very good. Ingle scored 32 of SEP's 50 points. Hoover got the ball back down 2 with about 1:15 or 1:30 left and pulled it out for the last shot. Why in the world you would do that I don't know. They were WAY quicker than SEP and were driving with relative ease all game. Hoover ended up getting a contested 30 footer or so fade-away as the buzzer went off. It was a VERY bizarre ending to the game and the season for Hoover.

    Ingle is a stud.

    Re: substate basketball

As someone pointed out, everyone but Ames is playing for 2nd place. Don't overlook Clinton. I saw them earlier this year and was extremely impressed. They will have one of the best backcourts in Des Moines. They are very good now but I believe they are a post player away from being elite.
