    Ticket fees

Is it just me or have ticket fees just gotten out of control? I knew that we've always had to pay a few bucks in fees but its starting to get crazy.
Looking at 2 concert tickets that are $38.50/each. There is a facility fee of $1.00, convenience fee of $8.50, an order charge of $2.00, and $2.50 to print it at home per ticket!
Two tickets that should be $78 together end up costing $105 at Wells Fargo Arena. Why in the heck are consumers getting charged all of that, then on the top of it, charging us to print them on our own at home on our dime?
I can't be the only one can I?

Yes Ticketmaster is a ripoff but this is thru dahlstickets.com
Even other places selling tickets seem to be a little out of control too.

    Re: Ticket fees

Its just like ATM fees. Both probably save the company money because they can have less staff handling the same amount of tickets sold, yet they get away with charging you for the 'convenience' of it.

Oh I hear ya, the ATMs are bad, but that is only a couple bucks per time and you are physically using their machine that someone has to reload every couple days, restock, etc.
The ticket fees that I am paying are close to a 35% fee using the internet and my printer.

    Re: Ticket fees

    Agreed.

Another fabulous Ticketmonster story. Last week, stood in line for nearly 45 min at HyVee to buy Jimmy Buffett tickets which generally sell out in 5 minutes. Only 1 year out of 12 have we been able to get through online before they're sold out.

10 AM hits and Ticketmonster won't release the tickets on their computer at the HyVee customer service desk. HyVee keeps trying - and after a couple minutes calls in. They get passed around and finally their service rep tells them that those tickets are not available through the retail outlets. Only online and telephone sales. HyVee says they've never seen anything like that - and there wasn't a message telling them this in advance.

Just makes me wonder if I can charge Ticketmonster with and INconnivence fee...

They pull that kind of crap just so everyone has to go through StubHub to buy the tickets at twice the face value... and oddly enough, the Monster owns StubHub too, I heard.

    Re: Ticket fees

I was just going to suggest going to a ticketmaster outlet to avoid all of those charges, but not after the Hy-Vee horror story. I haven't stood in line for tickets in years, but the way these fees are going, Im going to start to contemplate the idea.
