    honest opinion to all cyclonefanatics

Todd Lickliter and Greg McDermott have their teams 2nd to last in the Big 10 and Big 12 conference

what if Iowa fires Lickliter after this year does this put Pollard the pressure on to fire McDermott

both coaches have yet to show any progression in 3 and 4 years

Neither will happen so why discuss any further.

Lickliter will not get fired after this year, but if he does, it would be interesting. The last thing Pollard wants is to be behind Iowa in basketball, especially when it come to rebuilding.

why are both Butler and UNI so strong again? Is it because these guys built great foundations? Im not an Mac or pollard apologist, but I believe this is part of the reason both will save their jobs.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Iowa is MUCH worse than Iowa STate. What they do should not effect us.

If Iowa makes the move first and fires Lick, we probably wouldn't fire McDermott. I don't think Iowa or Iowa State wants to be looking for a coach at the same time. You'll be competing for a lot of the same names.

Re: honest opinion to all cyclonefanatics

I doubt either program makes a move this year. I think that there is a better chance of this happening next year. If one of these coaches don't turn their program around next year then both AD's will be almost forced to do something regardless of what the other school is doing.

The one scenario that I can see happening this year is Lickliter getting let go if Barta wants to avoid that very situation next year. It may depend on whether he thinks he can bring in a better coach than Pollard if they were looking at the same time. If ISU and Iowa hire new coaches in the same year they will always be compared and could very well cost one of the AD's their job if one coach greatly outperforms the other.

Todd Lick. didnt build the empire at Butler, check out who coached there before he inherited it . Plus they get DECENT talent at a school in a ****** conference.

He already rejected Iowa after his first season here. Doubt they'd ask again.

I don't think that UNI is that strong. I think they are a beneficiary of a very weak conference. There is a reason that UNI is the only team that is considered an at-large team. They've only beat one team that's going to make the tournament.

The records aren't THAT far off. Iowa sucks this year, but I think there is a lot more hope from the fans in Iowa City than in Ames, just because of who each team has returning next year.

Neither will happen. Mac is probably safer than Lick. I will say this. I do think we would have 20 wins if Lick was our coach. He is a good coach. Why he thinks he can win in the Big11 with AVERAGE MVC players is beyond me.
