The Canadian Womens hockey team celebrates by drinking beer and smoking cigars on the ice.

Pretty disrespectful, not to mention the fact that some were underage, stupid move.

Drinking age in Canada is 19. There is one of them that's underage.

They worked their ***** off to bring home a gold on home ice. Party away ladies. I can't believe how PC this world has become.

    Re: To rowdy?

The only issue I see is that the under-age drinking issue, and that is pretty minor IMO.

I was just at the Olympics and there were a couple things that became very apparent.
    1. As soon as the game is over, the event is largely over. They get people out of the arena in a hurry. Certainly this was a the final hockey game, so there might have been a few more people in the arena.
    2. The Olympics aren't like an NCAA tournament basket ball game where you can't get a beer. Beer was everywhere I went. I went to buy beer more than once and when handling the 2 beer max objection, I merely said please and they respond with "mmm OK". It would be hypocritical IMO for the IOC to have an issue with partying in a largely empty arena in front of the home fans.

On another note, everyone should go to the Olympics once. AMAZING party.

I don't care if they drink and smoke to celebrate, but to do it on the ice is disrespectful.

    Re: To rowdy?

I don't have a problem with it, but I also don't think the Olympics is some sort of morally superior sport. Baseball players spray bubbly all over the place after a game and nobody gives a crap. In fact it's tradition. IMO people need to get over the notion that the olympics is anything but another sporting event that's all about the money.

    Re: To rowdy?

Why is it disrespectful, and to whom? Had they been celebrating outside the US lockerroom, I might agree, but they weren't.

    Re: To rowdy?

This is the moment they have been working for forever. Gold Medal at the Olympics on home ice. Nothing in their sports careers will ever surpass this moment. And from the pictures it looked like no one was there. The place was empty. The only outsiders there to see it were the media who stuck around and saw a chance to stir trouble out of nothing and make some money on the pictures.

I didn't realize this before, I take back what I said before. I pictured this happening right after the win.
