ESPN's Schefter says Rams to take Bradford No1.

ESPN's Adam Schefter told a St. Louis radio station he is "willing to take all bets" on his prediction that the Rams will select Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick.

Schefter admits that he has not spoken to the Rams about the issue, but he insists he doesn't need to because he's "heard enough other things" from people around the league that he considers it a lock. Schefter also "promises" that Bradford is a top-5 player in this draft. The Rams are also reluctant to pay the going rate at No. 1 for a defensive player. If Schefter is correct, the Lions are sitting pretty at No. 2 with their choice of Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy.

This will be interesting if it happens

They're way under the cap and they have a new owner who is going to want to gain the fans trust after the last cheap *** owner the Rams had. They'll take who's best for them..... I hope

I understand this move financially but I don't like it. This would open the door for them to let Bulger go and save some cash but still I want one of the two DTs. I really hope this new owner is willing to put some money in the team...not a good start if this really happens.

While the 2 DT's maybe the best players in the draft if you take them with the 1st pick they will be the highest paid player at that position as soon as they sign the contract.

Sam Bradford will be an above average quaterback in the NFL IMHO. I think #1 is way too high for him to get drafted.

Glad I am not a Rams fan. Bradford breaks easy and the Ram OL leaks like a sieve.

I really can't believe they would do this. It doesnt make sense to leak it this early anyway does it?

There is also talk that the top 4 teams are looking to trade back but no one right now looks like they want to move up

Re: ESPN's Schefter says Rams to take Bradford No1.

ESPN - Rams running back Steven Jackson believes that the team should trade the first overall pick in this year's NFL Draft.

"If we don't feel someone is hands-down the number-one pick, I think we should trade down, try to get an extra second-rounder, an extra second- or third-round pick, 'cause we have so many things that we can use as an organization," Jackson said Friday on ESPN's "First Take."

Guy makes a real good point. They need a whole lot of help.

You're right, they do need a ton of help. But, I wonder how much of Jackson's statement comes from his desire to remain the team's primary offensive star. I mean, he's the man in St. Louis. If they use the number 1 overall pick on an offensive player like Bradford, he'd have to share some of his spotlight. Not saying that this is the case, and I could be way off, but there are some players who would probably think like this.

Since we've had TO in the league, there have to be guys that think like that.

Question, because I don't follow Jackson a lot: Has he been that sort of guy? I don't know. My guess is that he's just giving an honest assessment. He's got to be near that point in his career where being the guy on a team that can't win enough would wear on him.

Thats crazyness. Jackson has been getting plummeled the last two seasons. He not a star, hes a punching bag for the other teams D.

If we were talking about a team that was above average maybe, but not the lowly Rams. He sees the team needs help everywhere ... that signing the top pick might not gain them the overall gain they would get from a solid draft with a lot of picks.

No, the guy is never in the press anyway. (probably more a fault of having a handful of wins in 3 years)

He's tired of getting crushed after 2 yrds for 25 carries a game. anybody would be.
