    Kevin Durant...does anyone care

about how much the guy bench presses anymore? Do you remember when there was "concern" about his paltry bench press prior to his being drafted?

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

    Re: Kevin Durant...does anyone care

I don't even remember it anymore, so I'm guessing that no one worries about it anymore.

They should be worried about those OKC uniforms. Those are horribly ugly.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

I remember Collin Cowherd making a huge deal about it a couple years ago, couldn't believe he could only bench 180.

I bet he can bench more than that now. He plays much stronger now than he used to.

Durant is a super stud. I said it when he got drafted and I'll say it again now; Congrats Portland, you passed on Michael Jordan and that bit you in the *** and now you passed on Kevin Durant. If you put Durant on Portland with Brandon Roy, they are the #2 seed in the West this year.

I can only assume that people who are concerned about a basketball players bench press are the same ones who get worked up over an OLmens 40 time. Its nice to have strong B-ball players with strong chest muscles but not too important. Also, benching is totally different for a guy with a 7-foot wing span than for everyone else.

    Re: Kevin Durant...does anyone care

I remember that "bench press" comment. I just ignored it after thinking back to his 32 points against my Jayhawks in the Phog. The guy could flat out play. Why would that suddenly change because he couldn't bench press?

same thing goes for QB's and wonderlic scores. sometimes talent is just immeasurable.

    Re: Kevin Durant...does anyone care

There's such a thing as being "wirey strong". Not everyone has to have bulk muscle to be strong. Marcus Fizer was one of the strongest people to play college basketball, and that sure didn't translate well to the pros. I think the fact Durant is skinny is actually to his advantage, as he is much quicker off the bounce then the bulky guys his size, and with his slender frame he is able to manuever better in the paint.

I believe less people care about the bench now. I'm glad I bought his Sonics jersey. Hoping that pays off for me down the road.

    Re: Kevin Durant...does anyone care

While it clearly has no effective on his ability to play, it is pretty crazy that he can't put up 180 pounds. I don't think there was a guy on my HS team that couldn't throw up 180.
