Jamaal Tinsley: $21.2 MILLION to NOT Play Ball

Ok, so I knew that Indiana was paying Tinsley to stay away from their bball team, but I just read the new BS report on espn.com about what is 'wrong' with the NBA where he quotes:

"It's about Jamaal Tinsley getting paid $10.6 million this season and the next by Indiana not to play there."

Tinsley is probably my favorite ISU bball player of all time and it sickens me that he wasted his NBA career, but now I am just plain jealous of him. He will make $21.2 million over the next two years to do absolutely nothing... At my current salary it will take me 424 years to make that much coin..

Now excuse me while I go throw up...

I wish I could get paid a lot of money to not do my job. It's good work if you can get it.

He's on a the Grizzlies right now. He's their third string PG but at least he's still in the league.

New article? This happened last year. He sat out the last 2. This already happened. Where the hell have you been? Jamaals with the Grizz this year making the league minimum.

They bought out his contract so he will still get that 20 million to not play there. It's true.

Tinsley is probably your favorite ISU player and you're just finding out about this? Larry Bird (Indiana Pres) was in the process of making Indiana a team full of Larry Birds (Mike Dunleavy and Troy Murphy for Al Harrington and Steven Jackson, really?) so they paid him to stay away because they couldn't get rid of him.

Tinsley hasn't wasted anything. Regardless of what he did on his own time, the Pacers are the ones who shut him out and wouldn't let him play. He didn't sit out because he wanted to, he wasn't allowed to play.

sounds to me like it was pretty successful...at least by my standards. perhaps to you $21 million is failure. If I am him I am feeling good as not only am I filthy rich but my joints aren't taking 2 years worth of NBA pounding. Is he a thug...yep. We could USE a thug right now at ISU.

Re: Jamaal Tinsley: $21.2 MILLION to NOT Play Ball

The Grizzlies have dressed Jamaal Tinsley as their third-string point guard for the last six games.
Tinsley, 31, is taking the demotion in stride as Memphis continues to surprise this season.
"I understand it. I've been around," he said. "I'll do whatever it takes to help the team. It is what it is."
Marcus Williams has come off the bench to back up starting point guard Mike Conley since Feb. 6.
"I'll just go out there and play hard," Tinsley said. "I don't make decisions. I don't worry about that. I don't control it. My job is to play hard and try to help the team win."
The Grizzlies signed Tinsley on Nov. 13 to a one-year, veteran's minimum contract after he spent 18 months away from basketball after the Pacers sent him away from the team.

I wonder if a reporter will ever get him on the record admitting he tried to win that hampton game by only one point?

The team "ran out of gas" my donkey.
