That German team realllllly needed Staiger

Staiger has played in 1 game for 3 minutes and 11 seconds in a 40 pt blowout. He's tearing it up!

That's classic. I'm sure Lucca's ego (you know, he wanted a bigger role here) is taking quite the hit...

Well Lucca, part of growing up and becoming an adult is living with the consequences of your decisions. Looks like you might have a lot to learn from this decision you made.

Maybe he didn't care at all about playing time and just wanted the paycheck?

It'd be interesting to interview him now and see how he feels about this decision.

Re: That German team realllllly needed Staiger

Maybe he knew how this was going to go. I seem to remember some official from the German team acting rather shocked that he left here mid-season to join. Maybe it wasn't something the team was pushing because they knew they weren't going to use him much at this point. It could be that Lucca just wanted to get out of here that bad.

That much we know. He wanted and got a paycheck. And that he felt is was to risky that the check wouldn't be there if he waited.

It all started 8 or 9 months ago...Leaving in the middle of the season was not expected, but leaving was...getting a paycheck was also motivation.

Paul Clark had reported that Staiger bought a car here in Ames just a short time prior to quitting the team. He then tried to return the car to the dealer for a full refund (with no success).
If true, that tells me that this was an abrupt decision of sorts...

That's interesting. I have a friend that saw him with a new Tahoe talking to several sales guys at the dealership. My friend thought he was buying it with his new Pro BB money. We couldn't think of why he'd buy a Tahoe and end up needing to ship it over to Germany.
