    Baylor

Is anybody else sick of hearing about Britney Griner? I'm watching the A&M vs Baylor game on TV. It's Griner Griner Griner Griner, all time best, greatest ever, impossible to defend, blah blah blah. Um, didn't our beloved Cyclones totally spank Baylor by 24 points and totally neutralize Griner???? *sigh*

    Re: Baylor

Triple teaming someone every time they touch the ball is very effective.

If Baylor actually had a outside game it might have been different. I think Griner against ISU was a prime example of how effective Prins is going to be here. We have an outside game, having a dangerous inside game is going to make us unstoppable.

we did a pretty good job against her; I think she scored ten points and had seven rebounds, but Anna got thirteen points, I think.

I am not so sure than watching "her" is technically "women's hoops".

    Re: Baylor

I was getting pretty sick and tired of hearing the announcers go on and on about Griner myself. It must be the "dunk" factor, as our post players looked pretty darn good themselves, imho. I think we're going to have 3 more years of spirited play between us and the Lady Bears. And until, or if, they get an outside game, advantage Fennelly.

    Re: Baylor

Brit Griner's impact on Big 12 women's basketball is not greatly different than Wilt Chamberlain's entry into the Big 8 in 1956. Wilt had a better supporting cast, but they way they played and how they were defended is similar. Fennelly's defensive sceme for Griner was nearly identical to the plan Bill Stranigan used to limit Wilt. I think Wilt had 11 points in that game, Griner had 10. When Griner gets stronger and her team-mates mature, Baylor will be UConn west.

Let's not rush to judge. Mike Tyson sounds a tad effeminate but I wouldn't say that to his face. Or how about retired MLB Dave Stewart from the Oakland A's?
