    What are you calling??

With talk of a new offense on the horizon, I was curious what some of you would put in your own personal playbook. To keep it simple, let's say your offensive playbook was limited to 3 running plays. What would they be? For me, it would be:

    1) Trap
    2) Iso
    3) Off-Tackle

In high school I was a center, not very fast but able to move just about anybody infront of me. Those were my favorite plays to run.

    Re: What are you calling??

Cross block with the TE/Tackle or Tackle/Guard can be very effective too, especially out of the I-formation. I guess you could say that's off tackle.

I always liked how the Colts run their stretch play. Gotta have some nimble offensive linemen for that.

Great way to setup play action though. Hit 'em with the stretch play a couple times to the right. If successful, fake it and throw to the tight end who snuck out to the left side of the field. Ya get everyone moving right, throw it back to the left.

Delayed handoff or draws. Seems that's all I know after the past decade.

Well, if it is 3rd and 10 then I definitly call the draw, from the shotgun of course.

I think with the spread offense, the most important running play is the option. This will be very key for our inexperienced offensive line.

Why in the heck would you fake the punt. Actually punting the ball was some of our better plays last season (see Texas Tech).

    2. OB Left on the option (short yard situation)
    3. Fumblerooski (whenever we can run it)

    Re: What are you calling??

HB counter. That play is very key to offensive success, espeically with an aggressive defense. I don't even know how many times I have seen us get burned big time because of a misdirection play. It is also my favorite play to run on Madden and NCAA 07 :)
